About

Our Mission

To develop an education, marketing and communication strategy to provide Eden Prairie constituencies with a common, community-wide understanding of what affordable housing is and why it is important for Eden Prairie.

Background:

The Eden Prairie Housing Alliance is a collaborative group of concerned residents, business and civic leaders, housing experts, and city representatives—people who wish to tackle important housing topics in Eden Prairie.

We bring expertise, community activism and resources to this important topic, but above all, a passion for affordable housing is at the heart and soul of everything we do.

City Council Task Force

The 2020 Task Force recommended policies/actions to increase the availability of affordable housing to meet the goals of the Eden Prairie Aspire 2040 Plan, which resulted in several affordable housing ordinances being adopted by the city council in 2021. Nearly all the recommendations were adopted.  Most significant was the requirement that a given share of new construction be affordable to people with low to moderate incomes, regardless of City subsidy.
