Our Mission
The Eden Prairie Housing Alliance is a collaborative group of concerned residents, business and civic leaders, housing experts, and city representatives—people who wish to tackle important housing topics in Eden Prairie. EPHA was created to develop an education, marketing and communication strategy to provide Eden Prairie constituencies with a common, community-wide understanding of what affordable housing is and why it is important for Eden Prairie.
Current Priorities—Home Sharing Matching
Beginning in the spring of 2026 the EPHA, along with partners St. Andrew Lutheran and Prairie Community Church introduced a Shared Housing Program to help match Seniors (55+) who have an extra room, with adults (18+) who need affordable housing.
The program is in partnership with Lutheran Social Services, who will be providing the logistics (interviews, screening, home visits, social worker support, matching, lease agreements, etc.) We will begin in Eden Prairie and expand to other cities as we grow.

Background
City Council Task Force
A 2020 Task Force created by the Eden Prairie City Council, recommended
policies/actions to increase the availability of affordable housing in Eden Prairie. Nearly all of the affordable housing recommendations were adopted and ordinances were
adopted in 2021.
One of the recommendations, not acted on, was to pilot a Home Sharing Program tomatch senior homeowners who have an extra room or separate unit available with someone looking for an affordable place to live (home seeker). More than 50 such programs exist across the U.S. but not in MN…until now.
The EPHA is now pivoting to focus on achieving this objective. We will be working for the successful launch of LSS Home Matching Service first in Eden Prairie and into other
cites.
